And when a new anime season starts (every 3 months or so) from all the Ziggy Haim Goddess of the Gutter shirt and I love this new titles i watch from 0 to 3 and most likely I end up dropping em I loved 80 and 90s Anime, it seems less blockbuster anime comes out anymore. Akira still looks better than 90% of the anime that comes out now. It was the tip of the spear. We got the very best that Japan had to offer at the time and it kinda spoiled us. Once it became mainstream popular, just about any drek they scrape together gets exported to meet demand. I’m sure there’s some real gem’s out there being made today, but it’s lost in a sea of underage schoolgirl fanservice. You sort of need recommendations, the problem is that they’ll come from someone who actually enjoys swimming in that sea of underage schoolgirl fanservice.

Akira was like 18 fps. most cheap anime is literally 4 fps nowadays. Still shots with just the Ziggy Haim Goddess of the Gutter shirt and I love this camera zooming in or out, unmoving heads with just the mouth moving slightly. It’s all much more cheaply produced. I just don’t like the style or animation. Wouldn’t necessarily say that I hate it. I just don’t enjoy watching it. So I don’t. Yeah that’s how I am as well. I can appreciate the animation and the time and work that the artists put in but even as a kid, it wasn’t for me. Pokémon was just getting big when I was a kid and I tried to watch it to see what my friends were talking about and I just couldn’t get into it I can appreciate a single frame as an artform but something about the animation just seem so… jagged? Rough? I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m sure there are great anime stories but I just can’t bring myself to watch them.
