Best thing to do is remember if it doesn’t look good/flatter you, its never your fault. You can have two people built nearly identical with different undertones try on the same top and it will suit one more than the other, simply due to their undertones. Thats all it takes. But we never blame the body, we blame the clothing for not flattering us! I’m a woman and I think women should stop asking this stupid question that’s clearly making men uncomfortable. I’m serious. I’m asking my best friend and husband of 11 years if I’m not sure if a dress makes me look fat every time I need to. I don’t have great perception of myself and sometimes I’m on the fence about an outfit. Sometimes he’ll suck his teeth and say “yep yeah it kind of does”. My reply has always been “I know right??” and I’ll simply change. I ASKED because I wanted to KNOW, not because I wanted reassurance or validation.

Some make me look very slender and lithe and others give me an instant 10 lbs. I need to ask sometimes. Just fishing for compliments to get reassurance when she feels insecure .
