It’s not about what people think. When a government recognizes a language as a dialect of another language, then policies are geared towards homogenization. You have Hindi medium schools, not Bagheli medium. The budget spent on cultural preservation is bucketed into one big ‘Hindi’ language instead of being split among the West Virginia mountaineers the Peanuts Christmas 2023 Shirt moreover I love this different languages that are now considered a regional dialect. So over time, the result of it is that newer generations just think of their mother tongue as a legacy that they can do without PS – a good example of this would be Tulu in Karnataka. It is still being taught as a separate language in Karnatka, and thanks to this, it’s not dying as fast as the languages in the north.

The Hindi-isation of north Indian languages is not good. It strips the West Virginia mountaineers the Peanuts Christmas 2023 Shirt moreover I love this local region of its own distinct flavour. That too the Hindi being promoted is a dialect of Hindi that was promoted for official use. The official language concept – kills many local languages. eg in Arunachal – people speak Hindi and their local languages are going extinct. Human civilization is full of such rises & falls. There are complete languages with volumes of text written but nobody knows them & its completely forgotten. Languages are just a tool. Used by the Brain to Think. If the use for the tool reduces with time, the tool stops being used. Their Brains come up with completely different ways to think using Visuals rather than Sound. But since they have to survive in a world where everyone around them uses Language based on Sound, they are retaught how to think using the tools of the majority.
