Yeah. Would be funny if they said “Look, you’ve probably read the Ultra Maga Proud Ultra-Maga T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this reviews, and already know that this movie kind of sucks. That’s why we’re showing it in our crappiest theatre (it smells like cat pee – yes, we’ve tried everything) for $2.95. We’re just praying to God you’ll buy a soda or poop corn, or anything.” We have this at our local theater. My wife and I call it “shitty movie club”. You get a ticket and a regular popcorn for $5 on those select movies. It’s really just movies that didn’t do well and are on their way off screens. When I was a teenager, there was a place that would show movies for $1 after they had finished their real theatrical run. They also sold cheap pitchers of beer and nobody bothered to ask for IDs, so me and my friends would go get shithoused up there. Good times. “dollar theaters” with late-run or second-run films were quite popular across the u.s. back in mid-1980s through the 90s.

Yup I do miss the Ultra Maga Proud Ultra-Maga T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this dollar theater. My home town had a few of them. They literally had “Like Mike” and “Kangaroo Jack” in that theater for over a year. Like other movies would come and go but those two seemed to always sell out every time. There’s still one in my town, but there’s constant drama about whether or not it will survive year-to-year. Not sure how they’re still open after covid tbh. Obviously they don’t sell tickets for a literal dollar anymore, but it’s less than half price of a “real” theater – usually $5 for adults. You can also rent a theater for private parties and bring a console for giant Mario Kart or whatever. It’s really great for when you realize “oh I haven’t seen a movie in 8 months” and they’re still running whatever was popular that you missed. Any good movie stays for quite a while.
