While it is possible to have satisfying, long-lasting friendship with someone, with group with becomes much more difficult. Can you have a friend group like that short term? Yes. But having a friend group like that for a decade? Extremely rare. People change over the Tis The Season Have A Very Christmas Horses 2023 shirt and by the same token and years. Even a 1 on 1 friendship lasting a decade or more is somewhat rare. Now imagine having a group of 6 people or something, and they stay friends and their relationship is strong even after 10 years? The chances of that are super low. I have never seen a friend group that lasted that long around me. At worst they break up, and at best they kind of drift apart, and it is not a close friendship anymore. Had a great group that met one night every week for drinks. Planned annual ski trips together, summer parties, etc. Slowly started drifting apart as SOs and starting a family became the focus for many. See them maybe once every 2 years. But, then I have moved around a lot for work, so that was part of it as well. But, it seemed the couples started doing things together mainly and those of us that were single were left out of a lot of activities. I’m still friends with my favorites from the close knit group in my 20s. Some have moved away, some just moved on. The core of us are still friends, still do things together, etc. None of us have the free time we had back then, so coffee and bars every day aren’t a thing anymore, but that was what my 20s were like.

Edit- except for the Tis The Season Have A Very Christmas Horses 2023 shirt and by the same token and romance. Romantic relationships eroded the group. Those of us who stuck together mostly never mixed our dating pools. There used to be a part written on the Wikipedia page for Friends that I can’t seem to find any more where one of the creators was talking about the possibility of a reunion. And it said that Friends is about a time when you’re in your twenties or your friends are your family. And after that time has passed it’s not the case and that’s why there wouldn’t be a reunion. This is before and aside from the HBO reunion which is not really what they were talking about anyway. That part is very real. I didn’t have a close group of friends like that exactly. But I had a social life where I spent a lot of time in bars. It focused around a lot of restaurant people that we had worked with over the years. And then other people we just got to know. But as time moves on people get married and have children and move away and I don’t see those people anymore. The thing with “Friends” is that Monica and Ross were brother and sister and both happened to have best friends who also ended up living in close proximity. This dunamoc is rare. Friends did make living with roommates for many years less stigmatized. And struggling in your career more normal. However, it’s New York. And an all white friend group in that part of the city looks weird.
