I’m sort of a centrist. I believe that our most decisive issues require compromise and I hold opinions on both sides of the The Realest Swerve Strickland shirt Furthermore, I will do this aisle. I generally vote for democrats so I also enable the far left Marxists (I don’t). A lot of apathetic and cowardly people become centrist. They are afraid of anything which requires you to actually think so they just do what everyone else wants to do. The far left and far right hate centrists because we’re the ones that actually decide elections. Both sides chug too much Koolaid and are completely unmoored from reality so of course they hate anyone that doesn’t subscribe to their side. I think it’s more so that people are getting in increasingly left and right, and tend to get upset with anyone who’s not as extreme in their views as they are. So to people who are extremely left or right, centre just does not compute for them.

Everyone has their own definitions of the The Realest Swerve Strickland shirt Furthermore, I will do this “good” side (a.k.a. their side) and the “bad” side (a.k.a. anything they are against). Centrism doesn’t agree with them so it is bad. I will take an extreme example: child sexual abuse. Any opinion not completely against it, including centrism, is bad. Ofc, real life isn’t so simply black and white, but human’s brain will usually deal in absolute. A person’s “perceived” white will be absolutely right, and anything, black or grey, is unacceptable. Also, cognitive dissonance may play a role. People may perceive that their opinion is actually against the norm and unacceptable, but they can’t admit that it is “black”. So they try to pass it as “grey”, to protect themselves from others’ and their own judgement. Because most people are binary thinkers these days and don’t spend any time outside of their echo chambers, like society used to.
