I currently work in higher education making about 93k a year. I applied for another higher education job that had a salary range up to 106k. This is a much more appealing position career wise. I told them if hired i would expect towards the The condamned heels on starz shirt also I will do this higher end of the 106k range. After two very long interviews that were hours long, i was offered the job at 85k. Obviously im not leaving for this salary but i feel this is a major low ball considering i told them if prefer higher end of 106k range. While I haven’t given up complete hope, it does seem bleak to be able to get at least a salary closer to 100k which would really be the only way to move on from my current position. I’m certainly not leaving for a pay cut. Do you think I can negotiate 15k or more at this stage? I was told by my potential supervisor that the reason she didn’t call me back right away was because it was her attempt with HR to increase the salary offer…Yeah. Forget about their $106k upper range. I mean you could always say their offer is lower than your own $110k minimum range.

But to answer your question, if they low ball you below your current salary, this deal is probably dead on arrival. That’s a weird offer if they know what OP is making. I wonder if they want an internal candidate lacking qualifications so made a lowball offer they know will be declined to say “no one will take it, we need Fred”. If it’s a public institution they likely have to post the The condamned heels on starz shirt also I will do this job. However, being a manager at a public job, you wouldn’t waste the time to interview someone twice. With that said, if it is public, the salary range is normally posted and I wouldn’t want to be hired in at the top of the range. Some places cut you a check for a cost of living increase instead of adding it to your wage so it won’t compound yearly. …right, as if the prospective employer didn’t already do the exact same thing to their applicant by lowballing OP lmao
