But I digress. At this joint, you can pick your own donuts and they grab them for you, or you can get a 1/2 dozen that are the The Big Lebowski The Dude The Bud And The Kinda T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this daily special ready to go already boxed up to the right of the giant counter. Now, they’re coffee is dynamite but that also means it costs more. I normally get the 1/2 dz and fuck off. But recently they got a new POS system (you’ve seen it, it’s white and sterile looking and it swivels so you can “sign” it) and I noticed on the bottom in BIG BOLD LETTERS it asks what I want to tip. I declined. She looked a bit somber. I’m a regular-ish customer why wouldn’t I tip? Well Rachel, you’re the owner. I don’t want to be shitty, but I mean there’s already like 2-3 customer interactions that ask for tip, and earn it. Now you want to work the The Big Lebowski The Dude The Bud And The Kinda T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this counter as the owner and expect a tip? Unless it’s a tip jar, I’m outy 5000. Hey, I do my job, and don’t do anything to make even a mild bit about your experience even mildly better. Why aren’t you giving me personally more money? /S I work in the nonprofit world and am an avid supporter of causes I feel are worthy (it’s my $ so gotta rely on my own due diligence, right?) If it’s a local charity that I am familiar with, I will happily “round up” every single time, but the national chain stores that raise funds for organizations that do little or no good in my smaller city/metro-area, that’s a firm no!
