No, that’s too much for me. Idk if it makes logical sense, but it’s a block I can’t get past My daughter is in a private school due to special needs. And it’s fucking expensive. We skimp and save every penny to be able to have her in that school. Now they’re asking for extra donation money to give the staff a Christmas bonus. Fuck that! I don’t go around to my clients for extra cash so I can get a bonus. My gym once asked me per email for a donation “because times are tough during corona and energy prices are rising”. I copy/pasted the text and sent them their exact email back, just changed their name to mine. Never heard back from them.

Management always puts on contests for who can get the The Devil Whispered In My Ear Am The Storm Cerabral Palsy Warrior T-Shirt but in fact I love this most donations so their store looks good to higher ups. This cashier is probably gunning for the top spot A bunch of places around me have a donation thing, but most cashiers tell you the total and “just hit the red button to decline the donation” in the same retail worker peppy tone they use for everything else. Want to donate? Donate out of your revenues. Don’t ask customers for donations and then claim you donated this much. Your donation is printed on the receipt for YOUR taxes. No business can claim they made the donation. Tax fraud is a felony I didn’t mention anything about taxes, did I? I was saying something about these companies advertising how much they collected in their marketing campaigns. When you said they claim they donated this much, I thought you meant on their taxes. I stand corrected. You are right there though, they get the publicity for donating other people’s money I don’t like donating on the fly. I like to research the charity first. I want to make sure it’s actually reaching those in need. Not the b.s of 5 cents goes to the actual person and the other 95 cents goes to the company. Charity is important but you have to be careful. It’s still a business and people are greedy. I prefer to find charites online and donate to them directly. How about they turn it around and say “today we are rounding down as charity to our customers”. We are suffering more than the corporations.
