That’s like saying “joe had 100,000 in stocks and he increased his investment by 36,000 last year and paid no taxes on it”. Yeah, because he didn’t cash out. You don’t pay till you make money. Amazon also reported $276 million in state tax payments in 2019, as well as an international tax bill of more than $1.1 billion, according to Thursday’s SEC filing. And, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles Shirt also I will do this company notes in its blog post that Amazon also paid roughly $2.4 billion “in payroll taxes and customs duties” in 2019. They paid zero federal income tax is because they still haven’t made a profit in the last 17 years (thanks to heavy losses for most of their existence). I’ve never understood this argument. Do you pay more taxes than you’re required to? Hell, do you even claim products bought online that didn’t apply a state tax when you file every year? Be less upset at Amazon, Tesla, whoever and more at those who allow those loopholes to exist.

Amazon software devs aren’t being paid 300k because they deserve a more comfortable life than warehouse workers, they’re being paid that because the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles Shirt also I will do this supply of labor is much smaller. Because the engineers at Amazon have a skillset that’s takes years of education and experience. Much more than working retail or a warehouse. Anyone working a full-time job at the world’s 5th biggest company, shouldn’t be struggling to make ends meet. Wages aren’t matching the cost of living enough to give people a chance to get all their needs met, and a little bit of savings for a rainy day, or for something they want. The baseline for full time work should be a relatively comfortable existence. Anything above that is gravy and ice cream. There is no excuse for a full-time worker to be struggling. We’ve come to accept that that’s how it is. But it shouldn’t be how it is. Not everyone can up-skill and just move up. The company needs all these roles filled. So someone has to do them. And those people shouldn’t be left to rot when the company pulls in billions every quarter.
