This is unbridled bullshit. He ignored the Stars Stripes And Equal Rights 4th Of July Women’s Rights T-Shirt and I will buy this fact that the pregnant person has FULL RIGHTS that must be equal to everyone else. You realize that by your logic, that you would strike down Roe v Wade right? What you are arguing is the same thing that Ginsburg argued, that the right to privacy does not guarantee an abortion but that the equal protection clause protects the right to have an abortion. Roe v Wade is terrible law because they use the right to privacy to justify it. It would make more sense for it to be under the equal protection umbrella. I disagree with the crux of the editorial. The way the US government was, and is supposed to work, is that if you want to have rights… you have to make a constitutional amendment. So yes, all of these “lazy” rights that have been given by executive order, or judicial precedent are overturn-able by a court.

I am pro-choice. But that doesn’t make Roe vs Wade the Stars Stripes And Equal Rights 4th Of July Women’s Rights T-Shirt and I will buy this same strength as a constitutional amendment. Rather than doing it properly, with the proper amount of votes(which is required to make MASSIVE, FUNDAMENTAL changes to our society), political parties have often taken the easy route… and instead create these “temporary” rights, which allow them to force political things even if a supermajority of the nation, or government doesn’t support it. 1.) Do I personally think Abortion should be allowed(I say yes personally… I’d like a constitutional amendment if I could choose). 2.) Do I think that simple court precedent, or executive order makes something locked in stone, and unchallengeable(I, and most experts, regardless of political affiliation would say no… unless they’re on the other side of the issue). The problem here is that both parties keep using mechanisms like executive orders, and activist judiciaries to make massive, fundamental rulings that should really either be constitutional amendments, or not exist at all.
