My point really is that the Stars Stripes And Reproductive Rights T-Shirt moreover I will buy this language of the constitution is flawed. To claim that it is absolutely clear would negate the need for an entire branch of government to interpret it. I have nothing against guns in principle. I just don’t think the constitution states what people have interpreted it as. And the damned comma in the middle of it, too. Does it mean that we have the right to bear arms explicitly for the creation of a “well-regulated militia” in each state (so no recreational firearm guarantees) or does it mean that all arms are allowed, and that a militia is necessary for keeping the country safe? The 2nd Amendment refers to a well-regulated militia, which most gun owners are not. We educate and regulate car drivers to a greater extent lol. I mean everyone knows Roe was a bad ruling, even if we all love what it does for the country. A federal law just needs to be passed if we want to make abortion a right. We can’t rely on the Supreme Court to make laws for us, because they can unmake them just as easily.

Yikes! All 5 conservative judges will have to perform major legal and mental gymnastics to pass this. And to think Justice Brown was just grilled exhaustively about being activist. This. Everything about this draft decision makes me angry. From the Stars Stripes And Reproductive Rights T-Shirt moreover I will buy this bullshit “reasoning” to the blatant hypocrisy. The draft ruling outlawing abortion is itself an abortion. It would be funny if it was slightly less infuriating. The courts integrity is already lost – it’s so thinly transparent the majority let their religious bias rule their thinking and cannot do the job of separating church and state. It’s a farce. I’ve posted this before, but it bears repeating: There has to be a cap on federal judicial tenure. Permitting justices (and other federal judges) to loiter on the bench for decades at a time is an open invitation to abuse. Most federal judges are appointed later in life. So, it should be 20 years and out. One more thing: A number of conservative federal appeals court judges have been remarkably successful over their seemingly endless careers in grooming their law clerks to eventually also become federal judges. That sort of dynasty building provides politicians with a deep bench of candidates to nominate for eventual judicial appointments. Capping judicial tenure would go a long way toward limiting that partisan practice.
