Make sure it’s something fairly complex and not something that you could knock out in a day or two. If you can accomplish this you will be soooo far ahead of the game. The company has full-time expectations from an intern (and a sophomore at that). It doesn’t seem like they’re even trying to mentor you in anyway, you’re not the problem don’t worry For my first internship, the first 2-3 weeks were dedicated to familiarizing ourselves with systems, processes, and, most of all, industry standards; we weren’t expected to implement features until a few weeks in, and we did pair programming whenever we did. I can’t imagine being thrown into the deep end right at the start of your first job. This isn’t your fault. Internship has lost its meaning. Even if an intern truly is the Sing me a song lass that gone merry of soul over the sea dragonfly shirt moreover I love this most incompetent intern ever, firing an intern just entirely goes against the entire point of an internship. Sounds like a good life lesson. Before accepting a job make sure you and crystal clear on the expectations before you accept it. I also worked at a place where they fired an intern. Similar situation people weren’t familiar with the language. Fuck places that fire intern. Like fuck them real hard. Don’t feel bad op you dodged a bullet by not working there long time. Saying this with experience. That’s rough. Honestly, it just sounds like they had budget cuts so they needed to cut down on hiring and fact of the matter was that you were the easiest to let go.
