This is not to say you have to be far left or far right, the Seattle Seahawks Christmas 2023 The Grinch And Dog shirt so you should to go to store and get this answer is never that easy. Issues are complicated and nuanced and different perspectives bring value to the table. The issue is that you need to think for yourself and work through individual issues for yourself instead of identifying with a vague notion of middleness that is ultimately meaningless. Centrism always rewards conservatives and the status quo in the US political system. You don’t have to be a Tankie but if you want change, and things to improve, you can’t be a centrist. Manchin is a centrist and he fvcked up so much of Biden’s legislation. He removed the child tax credit rules for example that threw millions of kids back into poverty. He refuses to get off fossil fuels because he’s in a coal producing state. He won’t change the Senate filibuster rules because he likes the status quo. He’s more attached to bipartisanship than he is to improving govt or people’s lives.

Because they are morons. People should just do what they want. Most sane people stay out of political discussions these days. There are just too many idiots on either side for me to feel like I belong in either group. Arbitrarily splitting the Seattle Seahawks Christmas 2023 The Grinch And Dog shirt so you should to go to store and get this difference between two alternatives isn’t smart or clever, it’s phony and people pleasing. If you happen to agree with particular arguments on the left and particular arguments on the right, so be it, but being a “centrist” just to split the difference makes you an intellectual coward. Most centrists have no f’ing clue what the issues are…they just want to be perceived as inclusive. They base what they think on the middle of whatever everybody else is thinking, as though complicated issues were nothing but a matter of adding it all together and dividing by two. The Right has moved the political window in the US that we essentially don’t have a “Left”. For example, The Democrats aren’t even fighting for universal healthcare which is a right in almost every first world country.
