I know that perception has been changed recently but it is still the way many people think about it. Also, most of Vietnamese women can’t drink, so bar is a less attractive idea than other places like restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping malls.

Do you watch football ? I don’t have any specific name in my mind but I guess you can meet a lot of Vietnamese at sports bars / football cafe at weekends. You need to make friends and then go with them to places they like. There’s tons of places. Don’t go to bunker (paid girls) or anywhere near ta hien street, it’s just fat white dudes and backpackers, although I know that’s where 1900 is. Some places have trivia nights or comedy nights and you gotta go build a friend network of party people.
