It’s just the Rich Men North Of Richmond USA Flag Shirt and I will buy this police doing their job. If a pattern n is seen in someone’s travel, the police can and will investigate to ensure that criminal activity is not taking place, being enabled, or getting covered up. I got this when going TO Canada. They didn’t understand how a 20 year old had over 10 days holiday allowance (the national minimum there, which is what mostly everyone gets if anything). No problems, but it got flagged as I was returning fairly frequently (twice in one year was frequent enough, apparently). I drove down to Southern Italy to visit my Godmother not long after the Ukraine War kicked off and the border control officer started asking me about my previous military service. I didn’t even know they would have that kind of information available but it was around the time the government was encouraging ex-military personnel not to go volunteer. I was coming back from a holiday in Costa Rica, and had a connecting flight back to Heathrow from Bogota, Colombia. Before border control at Heathrow, everyone on the plane had to file past an officer with a drug detecting dog, with their bags lowered to the dog’s nose for inspection. I got pulled out the line before I even got near the dog for questioning.

At the Rich Men North Of Richmond USA Flag Shirt and I will buy this time, I (F) was mid 20s, dressed a little scruffy and carrying a battered hiking bag. Possibly but quite possibly not coincidentally, I also frequently get mistaken for Italian, Spanish, Greek or in that context, Latina due to my colouring, particularly when I’ve got a tan as I did then. The officer asked me where I was from, where I had been, why, how long I’d been away, how many nights i had stayed in each place, and a few other questions about my address, etc. He asked to see my passport (British). The thing is, despite not looking “classically-English”, I’ve got a very middle-class, home-counties accent. He looked surprised as soon as I opened my mouth, but persisted with the questions, I guess out of protocol. I obviously wasn’t who he was expecting from my look. I also got a more thorough pass past the dog. As soon as he was done he gave me back my passport and I carried on through the airport with no problem. Seized for destruction and she had the gall to ask when she’d be refunded Shocked when we told her she owed thousands in duty even after destruction.
