FWIW, I’m a woman and I think I honestly size up everyone I come across in the Reel cool dad 4th of july fish shirt in contrast I will get this general preteen-middle aged adult age range. Women are more wary in general. Most rape happens between people who know each other – I think most women know that it’s their creepy uncle or a dodgy “friend” or easily angered boyfriend rather than a rando on the street. What I’ve encountered personally on streets tho, is a general menacing from strange men. Throwing stuff at you out car windows, saying threatening stuff, following you in their truck, laughing at you, etc. But don’t guys do that to other guys? I’d kinda always assumed men mildly harassed each other out in the wild too? No problem. Even though I know it can never change (for the reasons I stated), and I obviously wouldn’t ask a woman to make herself less safe just to spare my feelings, it does help just…being understood, y’know?

I can’t say I’ve experienced the Reel cool dad 4th of july fish shirt in contrast I will get this general menacing from other men you’ve described. I’m guessing it’s because (cowardly) men know that other men are a lot more likely to commit violence in response to hostility. It’s kind of a weird double-standard. On the one hand, the men you’ve encountered gleefully terrorizing you because you’re a woman wouldn’t dare try the same thing on me (6’1″ 240lb man), for fear of violent retaliation. On the other hand (and this in no way justifies the former behavior), in my experience, men will tolerate a lot more disrespect and/or violence from women than from other men. (At least in public; Domestic Violence is a whole other can of worms.) If a woman slaps you or dumps her drink on your head, you just take it. Maybe warn her not to do that again or you’ll restrain her, in the case of the slap. But if I did either of those things to another guy? I would fully expect them to take a swing at me, and I can’t honestly say if they did the same to me that I wouldn’t take a swing at them, too.
