Tldr cut ethical breeders some slack, they genuinely care about the Randolph high school alumni shirt moreover I will buy this wellbeing of their animals and every animal deserves to be born to an experienced breeder who’s doing everything in their power to make sure they have the best shot possible at a happy, healthy life. We don’t even have dog overpopulation where I live. They have to ship in dogs from other states to meet the demand for adoptable dogs, and we have a lot of dodgy rescues that are just actually buying dogs from puppy mills. Which is why I waited A YEAR to get my puppy from a good breeder — it’s not a super common breed and they have small litters, so my options were basically either be patient or not get this breed. I’m glad I stuck it out because he’s perfect. I do notice that pet overpopulation varies a lot by area. In my area we have SO many shelter dogs, but the cat sections are empty kennels on empty kennels – my boyfriend recently adopted a cat and had to visit three shelters before he found one that was compatible with what he wanted (literally just an adult cat who’s good with other cats) and didn’t already have multiple adoption applications put in.

Eh, many dog breeds jobs are “look a specific way” (looking at you, toy breeds). So cat breeds make sense along the Randolph high school alumni shirt moreover I will buy this same lines. Some cat breeds do have personality traits: ragdolls, for example tend to be incredibly docile and people oriented. Buuuut you can also get that in random cats. I’ve got a long haired pointed cat who has never scratched, or bit anyone on purpose in the 3 years we’ve had him and I’ve never heard him his. He loves to be carried around like a baby and has no fear of strangers. People have asked if he’s a ragdoll mix (because he’s got the size and temperament) but as far as we know he’s just a cat Bengals are high maintenance – they’re still fairly close to wild cats so they have a lot of energy that needs to be channelled into playtime or they’ll shred your house out of boredom. Orange cats have a reputation for being dumb (see r/OneOrangeBraincell or the saga of Jean and Jorts) while calicos are said to be clever and use their paws as hands. I bet there are some for actual breeds too and not just the colors. Apparently they do have different temperaments. One that I know of is that Siamese cats meow very loudly all the time. Less specific to breeds and more to coat types and colors. Puppylust brought up oranges being dumb (but oh so very sweet), but tortoiseshell cats are known for their sass, hence ‘torti-tude’.
