You sign an agreement to only breed your dog with approved other dogs and four digit sums of money are involved. Not for the puppies, but the breeding opportunity.

If you’re not getting a breed for a specific purpose, go to the gdamn shelter. Even if you are getting a breed for a specific purpose, there are so so many purebred dogs in rescue and it is exponentially worse post pandemic. It doesn’t help when there are major breed rescues with batshit crazy requirements that snatch up any purebreds that do make it in. I guess I’m glad they’re finding so many homes that have 6’ fences, someone home 24/7, and no children under 12 ever in the home for their rescued golden retrievers? I have a rant that involves rescues with such stupid damn requirements! It’s a disservice to the dogs. To an extent I understand where they are coming from but if rescues don’t start loosening requirements on some of these dogs they’re going to start making the problem much worse.
