Very lazy writing, the plot and story left a lot to be desired and the dialogues were often clunky and forced. If Batman had been in the Penguin’s office a few minutes earlier or later he would have missed Selina’s reaction to the photos, the story would have stopped. If the cop in the Riddler’s apartment hadn’t started talking completely unprovoked about his dad or uncle being a carpenter so he knew what the purpose of the murder weapon was, the story would have stopped. Incidentally, the map under the carpet was incredibly stupid. Alfred wakes up from a coma, and is immediately able to engage in lengthy conversation, completely lucid, not thirsty at all or anything. In the end, Batman startles Selina by ‘sneaking up’ on her at the cemetery. She turns around to leave on her bike and HIS BIKE IS RIGHT BESIDE HERS… There are too many of these things to name, and I don’t want to think about the movie any more.

It’s like they said we know you know characters get put in the right time and right place to push the plot along, so we’re just going to do it. I was laughing in the theatre it devolved so fast. Zoe Kravitz was a great Catwoman. Pattinson was such a broody Batman that his Bruce Wayne was just broody Batman in a shitty suit. Alfred is gonna have to teach him to act the playboy. I think crafting the “Bruce Wayne” persona is going to be an important aspect of the sequel. While Batman has realized what he needs to be for the city, Bruce Wayne is still a filthy rich recluse. Someone who could use his wealth and power for good (philanthropy, etc) if he wanted to. But he needs a public face. He needs to be seen by citizens and not be a recluse. I think Alfred will help with that in 2.
