It sold the idea that if you didn’t own your own house as a young adult then you were a failure. Up until this point it seems like every culture was rooted in 3 generations living together. Explanation: “It was how my parents done it, so I’ll do the same” -> 18, kicked out, needs to work to support self -> work / school = loans -> trade school to make it quick / college for better pay but greater loans -> get job buy house -> next 10-30 years stuck in work like a slave to pay back mortgage and student loans taken while attempting to live with everyday everymonth expenses. (Modern enslavement for all because just 1 race wasn’t enough for USA)
