Cost of living has steadily increased since the None Shall Pass BLackKnight Shirt Furthermore, I will do this 1970’s, even though real minimum wage hasn’t. So, what you’re describing is actually already happening. I remember when teenagers used to work fast food, now all the sudden working the drive thru is a “career”. Now they deserve wages to compensate for their bad life choices. Lmao thats 31.80 CAD, I know millwrights making less than that and that shit takes actual schooling not just walking in off the street with a resume. I’m an apprentice electrician I make 16.50. I’ve worked in a factory like Amazon no way should that job pay more. The electrician is paid $100/hr? ( if working a full year at 2080 hours that would be over &200k,,, I know of line workers that storm chase making over &250k ) Must be nice to just throw around “facts” without doing actual research. Apple had a tax rate of 15% (or $14.5 Billion) for FY2021 which also happens to be the the minimum tax the G7 agreed on. Apple pays billions of dollars in income tax each year. To those saying “wow impossible that’s too high” have probably been so accustomed to getting screwed by corporations and gotten used to this terrible life. This isn’t even enough to afford a studio Seattle. To qualify for an affordable housing studio apartment person needs to make less than 65% of the median income…that is $49,400. At $25 an hour they still qualify for government assisted housing!

Read that again… $25 an hour is not even a living wage. You still qualify government assistance if you make $25 an hour. $25 an hour is not a big ask. Let me go another step farther and tell you that Amazon is buying and building properties near their warehouses that are going to be Affordable Housing. This allows Amazon to receive tax credits reducing their income while providing housing to their workers who they can continue to underpay. They are getting tax credits for creating housing and filling those apartments with workers who qualify for the None Shall Pass BLackKnight Shirt Furthermore, I will do this units because Amazon is underpaying them. To qualify for an affordable housing studio apartment person needs to make less than 65% of the median income…that is $49,400. At $25 an hour they still qualify for government assisted housing! You’ve mixed up household and personal income. Seattle median household is just under $100k, per capita is just under $60k. Someone making $50k is making over 80% of median.
