If they want you, the Metallica Black Album Poster Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this company should be willing to invest in you. If they’re not comfortable with you in this role, then do they really want you in it? Handshake/verbal deals mean absolutely nothing. Get everything written down including timelines. Formally apply for the position, if necessary. Otherwise it’ll be 5 years from now and they’ll default to the nebulous I’m not quite comfortable giving you more money or the title when you’ve been doing it at your existing pay level and title. Honestly, I wouldn’t take on more work without a raise. I did it once, and as you can imagine, I got screwed. I was told that I would get a Christmas bonus that would make me “very happy.” I got a box of dried fruits and nuts that retails for $40 on Amazon. Let me give you some great knowledge, as I’ve been through something like this myself. A promotion without a raise isn’t a promotion, it’s an indictment to do more work for the same pay. Your former “boss” was more than likely “let go” because he asked for a raise and COO thought ” we will just get (whatever your name is) to do it for even less than we are paying now”. You’d be a sucker to take on a manager position/ leader whatever they want to call it for no more pay, and they are betting on you being a sucker. Even if they do let’s say give you a raise after who knows how long it takes for them to “be comfortable” it won’t be anything but a disrespectful one. Probably give you an extra 50 cents or a dollar. I’d decline this offer at all costs.

There is a lot of negativity as to the Metallica Black Album Poster Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this outcome here. I did the same thing and 2 months later I had an increase to go with the title. This could be a big step up the ladder. My advice is to get the job description in email from HR and a time table to review if you are meeting their goals (2-3 months). Let them know that after this time period you would step down from the role if you do not meet the goals and back to your old role (this is important). Use the job description to watch both internal job boards and linked in for the job. Make a fake profile, with fake experience, and a resume and submit it about half way through your time table. If they jump on it, then you’re not getting it, step down immediately to your old role as they promised. If they ask why explain you’re not comfortable in the role and are working with a mentor to develop your skills at that level.
