I would consider mine an “easy” baby. He has a witching hour in the evening, but he doesn’t really cry during the day unless he’s hungry. He spends most of his wake windows doing tummy time or riding in his swing or just chilling on his back looking at the stuff on his baby gym. His favorite thing is when I have “conversations” with him; he’ll sit there and grin up at me and kind of babble and coo back when I talk to him. He sometimes gets into moods where he just wants to be held, but I can baby wear and go about my normal day and he’s happy with that. He eats every 2-3 hours during the day, and has 1 nighttime wake up, usually around 3:30-4:00 am. He does not usually need any help going to sleep; most nights we can plop him down in his bassinet wide awake and he’s perfectly happy to lay in there and coo and play with his hands until he passes out. No swaddling, but he does like a pacifier. Just generally kind of a low maintenance kid so far ?‍♀️

The only real “difficult” thing with him is that he spits up a lot. But he’s a happy spitter, no screaming, just makes a mess. 9 weeks, but his personality has been pretty consistent since the Locke high school alumni shirt Besides,I will do this beginning. We’ll see how things go as he gets bigger. He’s currently laying next to me cooing at the ceiling fan and kicking his feet around. I think that if YOU think it’s difficult, you have a difficult baby. And if YOU think it’s easy, your baby is easy. This is so relative and I think that’s where a lot of disagreements between moms come from. What’s easy for me may not be easy for you. What’s easy for you may be very difficult for me. I also think some people don’t help themselves when it comes to the way they choose to parent so from the outside I’m like…I wouldn’t do it that way, you’re making this harder than it needs to be lol but that’s why I have my baby and you have yours! That’s a great way to put it. I consider my daughter to be super easy, but I’ve also had friends say they wouldn’t be able to handle a baby like her lol. She’s an absolute tornado but she’s always so happy and hardly ever cries, so she’s easy TO ME because crying gets to me, but her acrobatics don’t. This 100%. It’s all about expectations. I never expected my baby to sleep through the night or soothe herself or whatever else would make my life easier. She’s a baby! She needs me! And we do what works for us. I don’t worry about what other mamas and papas are doing and that means I don’t unnecessarily stress. I think you know if you have a difficult one. Like crying 4-10 hours a day without anything being obviously wrong.
