So I get setting boundaries and stuff about your kid trying to avoid getting sick but I think you need to be more realistic about it. If you are worried about your baby getting sick from your family, then you shouldn’t have them around them at all. Plenty of diseases (including Rona) do not need mouth contact to spread. I think I’ll ask the In A World Where You Can Be Anything Kind autism shirt in contrast I will get this parents to wear masks while holding our son just in case they feel sudden urge to kiss baby’s face. I’d like to keep the baby away from everyone for the first 2 months but I know we will not do that. Going to limit visits to immediate family until he gets his shots. Not a bad idea! Honestly i didnt want anyone around for a while either. I felt pressured into having this event and to me it was still too soon. But everyone kept pressing and in both sides of our family its extremely uncommon to have to wait to meet the baby. If it were a perfect world were people wouldnt have hurt feelings i would take the first 3 months to myself lol I know how hard it is to enforce boundaries! I had visitors wear a mask until baby had her first shots because then they can’t kiss baby. I avoided having baby sick until I brought a cold from work, and I mask at work. We can’t avoid it forever, but it’s easier to deal with a sick baby when they’re not so little.
