I figured 3 times of grabbing my phone is enough to make it an always? (this is not an invitation to the universe, please, no more gas leaks). Not bad ones, obviously, but they were all confirmed once people were called in Yeah, the small sealed phone can cause a spark fit to light a petrol station, but thousands of vehicles all with high current 12V electrical systems and high potential ignitions systems running at tens of thousands of volts that spark like fuck are absolutely fine…. I’ve always assumed that this rule is simply to get people to pay attention since forecourts are pretty dangerous places: moving vehicles + flammable fuel.

Absolutely love this everyday humour. An old woman got on at a stop not long after I had got on and asked the driver “do you go to the hospital? He replied “only if I’m ill”. I remember being in a queue for train tickets years ago. The woman in front of me was at the window for nearly 20 minutes sorting out around 30 tickets for a school class. A massive queue of pissed off people behind me. When the woman finally gathered her tickets and stepped aside I strode up to the guy behind the kiosk and said “same again please!” It could have fallen flat, but there was a burst of group laughter behind me. Felt good to turn the negative feelings around.
