The quality of the product has stayed the same or have actually gone down, but we’re paying so much more for it. My issue is “free” healthcare is not free. It’s paid by taxes. I would agree for a Statewide healthcare system, but a federal healthcare system is prone to corruption and even higher taxes that will not be used on healthcare and will be sent to fight the war in Ukraine and the wars in the Middle East and be used for everything else other than healthcare. This can be seen over and over and over again in American politics. It’s been known that Social Security barely pays enough to our seniors, and the younger generations won’t even receive it but still have to pay into it. Then ask yourself why the federal government took out trillions from social security to fund other government programs 1.7 Trillion missing from Social Security The “fear” is the redistribution of wealth. It’s by very nature unfair. The most fair system is one where individuals have the choice whether or not to pay for care as they desire, and aren’t forced to pay for things for strangers. In practice, the cost per person spent on health care would rise dramatically, and the quality of the actual care would decrease. When it’s not your money, you’re a lot less likely to care about how you spend it and how good of a value you get, and you’re incentivised to get the best possible option every time, ragaress of cost or what’s actually required (if there’s no additional cost to you, why not?). Also, “free” anything should be a red flag. How can something as expensive as health care for hundreds of millions of people possibly be free? (The answer is, it can’t.)
