Not really a severe outburst, but thought it was wild a fellow associate was upset I didn’t put everything down and greet/smile for them when someone else was already helping them. Tl;dr: associate was mad I didn’t smile at them even though I wasn’t helping them and then went to an assistant manager to get me in trouble. Deli has changed the Kansas State Wildcats Snoopy Christmas Shirt so you should to go to store and get this way they sell their hot case foods from selling by weight(per pounds, half pound, etc.) to “per piece” (obv Home Office decision). People get furious when you tell them we don’t sell our food by weight anymore and if they want a single chicken strip, they have to get two because we don’t have a way to ring up a single chicken strip. Or “hey let me get 2 of these bone-in wings” “oh I’m sorry the smallest we sell our wings is a 6 piece, which is $6.87” And the price of these “per piece” items are insanely high. Ranging from a 6 piece bone-in wing being $6.87 usd BEFORE TAX. That’s over a dollar PER wing, and it doesn’t help these wings are small as fuck.

One time a customer came up with 2 plastic cups. As she scanned them, she became noticeably agitated, so I put on my customer service voice, “Hello ma’am, is something wrong that I can help you with?” She starts screaming at me, I ask her if I can take a look at the Kansas State Wildcats Snoopy Christmas Shirt so you should to go to store and get this cups- there are stickers on the bottom of each cup with $1.87 in bold print next to the barcode. I point that out to her and tell her that I can scan them on my work phone- lo and behold, they are $1.87. She continues to freak out at me. I try to alleviate the situation by telling her that if she wants, she can go back to the area (which was literally not even 20ft away) and take a photo of the price tag and I will most likely be able to honor the 98¢ price. She claims that she wouldn’t be able to find the price tag again (shocker, because I know there isn’t one because I had just done returns in the Dish-ware and Home Goods area half an hour ago.) So then she proceeds to pull out her phone and scream at me that she’s calling corporate and throws the cups towards me. She didn’t leave the checkout area to call them and I could see that she literally had Walmart corporate saved as a contact. Like wth
