If I were in your shoes I’d ask them what their timeline and milestones for your ‘growing into the Iron-Maiden The Future Past Tour 23 Shirt moreover I love this role’ looks like and how those milestones will translate into comp increases. If they hem and haw or give you unrealistic answers then you know that your path to getting paid requires changing companies. Additionally if they give you reasonable answers then move the goalposts or don’t follow through, that is another clue. If it were me I’d probably take the role and ‘PLAN A’ would be shopping my resume around at the same time – provided that it’s a title you’d want if the pay were right. Honestly? Update your resume, and start looking for other jobs ASAP. Whenever your boss has been let go, especially if that person hired you, you’re vulnerable. Do the best you can in your new role for the time being but look out for yourself. Make sure what you’re getting in writing from them is specific. What specific benchmarks they want from you and on what timeline. Because if there’s any ambiguity they absolutely can and will continue to string you along without a raise or title change as long as they can.

Can’t have the Iron-Maiden The Future Past Tour 23 Shirt moreover I love this pay raise yet? They can give you the pay raise bc they just freed up plenty of salary for it. I’d ask why you can’t get the raise and make note of the bs answer. You could be a bit snarky and ask how long they want you to perform this role for a discount. I don’t necessarily recommend that but you could phrase it much better. You probably actually have more leverage than you realize. If you don’t accept their terms they have a role they have to fill with an external or internal person. External hires will get the full benefits. The internal person will probably get the same deal offered to you. And I hate this part and I recently had this conversation with my manager about our new performance program. They are holding you to a higher standard than they are a new hire. You have to prove you can do the job by doing the job. A new hire will get the benefit of the doubt and full benefits of the position.
