Writing between 1 and 2 is a toss-up. As for gameplay while a bit stiffer and generally worse in a lot of ways it is overall edges out for not having slag, that shit is so lame, its effectiveness pidgeonholes the gameplay experience to be much more shallow and lessens combat variety and options. While it also dilutes the loot pool especially for anyone who doesnt care about being effective and just wants to use the interesting effects.

The splitscreen was best in the Hoe Hoe Hoe Gay Pride Christmas Shirt and I love this first game. My best friend and I played through the first game multiple times, having an absolute blast. I’m in the camp that BL3 was greatest story in going over-the-top gaming meta, and people couldn’t just handle it. I agree that BL1 probably had the best story and atmosphere. with tiny tina i then was left in complete confusion. i just can not decide if the story is better then bl3 because its sometimes is not *quite* as annoying, or worse because the story is so one dimensional, borring and still very annoying. And outside of anything to do with the story, Borderlands 3 was a notable improvement over Borderlands 2 contrary to popular belief. Having played all of the Borderlands titles I have to disagree because each game has its own merits, but I will say that Borderlands 1 was the most unique and memorable experience. My favorite being BL2 because the DLC for it was just so good and Krieg was a ton of fun to play as. Borderlands 1 has this feeling of trudging through an Arid desert with danger around every corner on a treacherous planet. It really captures that desperado/mercenary feel that I feel like I was looking for when first picking it up. The atmosphere is amazing. Borderlands 2 is an amazing sequel and game onto itself but now a days feels like it was too good for its own good if that makes any sense. After the second game the series felt very self-infatuated and it just got very campy. Gunplay is still great in all the games tho.
