Congrats on being recognized as being the Giraffe Opening Christmas Package shirt moreover I love this best amongst your team despite the fact that your boss wasn’t even there to say so (since of course fired). It either means your numbers are really good or your boss has been saying good things for a long time. I wouldn’t accept that kind of deal. more work for the same pay doesn’t really scream valued to me, and actions show a lot about how a companies going to treat you down the road, ask them to sweeten the deal, or just remain in your current position and say that youre not interested. This really depends on you and how you feel about the job, if you love it and are happy it’s completely different to if you are only doing it for the money. Tell them you will only do the job if you are getting paid to do the higher duties, if u have already been doing them, then they shouldn’t really have an issue with this. But you want the money now.

Or 4 which is probably what I would do, and that’s mentally set dates for progression and if it isn’t going to plan, then be prepared to quit (if you don’t think you would quit, then do the Giraffe Opening Christmas Package shirt moreover I love this other options) Like I would be saying after 1 month, you have a review, after 2nd month a date is set for pay rise to kick in, but if after 3 months you haven’t received the pay increase, you are out the door. Agreeing to extra work without even a guarantee of future extra pay is an admission that your think you’re overpaid already. Get it in writing or get a raise. It could be 6 months to a year before you see anything. They could make you do the work for cheap then hire someone else at a later date. Get everything in writing including a firm date you will be evaluated the minimum pay raise you will be offered, What is expected of you and job responsibilities. I would ask for the commensurate pay. Because they are actively looking for his replacement while using you as a stop gap. You might as well get paid while they look for his and your replacement. If they have alternatives, then make them put specifics in writing (what your new role is and the date your pay will increase (max 3 months). Later is never. Just blow off the responsibilities. At my job I’m technically supposed to come up with material ordering and production planning.
