It’s been a real fucking shit show, we have projects 1/8th complete, 1/16th done, projects not even on deck with previous due dates Ask for a list of expectations, time frame to meet them, and what the Happy HalloThanksMas shirt and I will buy this increase will be and when can you expect a review to receive the increase. Ask for this in email or writing. Tell them this is an important move and decision for both you and them and want to make sure its a good fit for everyone. I’ve been in this situation a few times before. I learned the first time after getting screwed. If they can’t give it to you straight up and in writing then they’re gonna fuck you over. I would not be willing to play these kinds of games. Pay me for the work I do or I won’t do it. I don’t care if they think there’s a „breaking in period“. I’m already fulfilling the duties that come with the job and that means I’m getting paid for it.

Happy HalloThanksMas shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

However, in my country there are laws against unjust termination and notice periods. Even if they wanted to fire me over this my livelihood wouldn’t be in danger. Meaning my stakes are lower than yours may be, depending on where you live. Do not stake your livelihood on a game of chicken. But do at the Happy HalloThanksMas shirt and I will buy this very least get it in writing. And being cooperative rather than confrontational is your best bet here. Get it in writing and also an email then you have evidence of the promise for when they don’t give you the raise which will also give you perfect ammo if you decide you want to leave I’m very sure that “grow into it” means never or at the least not in the near future. I say demand the raise or otherwise you won’t take the job, the fact that they’re arranging all this means that you’re clearly the one they want to take the job. However it’s clear they don’t want to pay you appropriately for the new position and responsibilities. State very plainly that if they expect you to take on this new role then you expect them to compensate you appropriately. Tell them that you’d be more comfortable with assurance that you’ll actually be given a raise and not just the promise of one.
