I hate these people’s attitudes as well. They also proceed to spend half their day at the Funnyahhtees Prison Mike shirt in other words I will buy this coffee machine because they are tired from not sleeping. It depends on the company. My first job most people were in by 730 and out at 6. My last job was 8-630. My current job is 830-430. It really depends but you need to look at your team and see what they are doing. All my jobs have been standard 9-5. You will not be successful if your are not on the same page as your team. That’s why I love working from home now. I’m not a morning person at all and having to make it into an office by 8 am is an absolute killer for me. Please work your assigned hours. If you need prep time, it is okay to arrive a few minutes prior. If you are in the middle of a task and it is time to leave, it is okay to finish it, especially if it is time sensitive. For the love of all that is good in the world though (which is less and less these days) please do not contribute to the twisted horror that is the idea that you have to arrive early and leave late. This, but i’d make the effort to stay back a little/come in early at the start particularly. Not saying they should make it a habit and they should set strict boundaries (e.g., they limit themselves to staying late once/week). It sucks but that’s how it is at the start at least

No, I have it as I meant it, just didn’t word it well. The point is that a few minutes here or there are ok, but consistently coming in early and leaving late is bad for everyone. Yes because then everyone puts pressure on everyone else. Some of us have lives we’d like to get back to when the Funnyahhtees Prison Mike shirt in other words I will buy this day is done Time is the most valuable resource any of us have. We must take great care in how we spend it and be very careful to avoid taking it from others. That’s exactly what that pressure you mentioned does. It makes people feel like they have to give more of something they can never get back, and it infuriates me. If nobody has said anything after 2 months I wouldn’t worry about it. If your manager brings it up then you can adjust if needed. If not work your hours. Don’t worry about what other people are doing. If it’s a company that rewards people who look like they are working versus those that are completing tasks it isn’t worth the time and effort anyway. What a lot of people won’t actually admit to, is the fact that they only get on-site so early because it’s easier to go right to work after getting kids ready/on the bus/dropping them off at school. Don’t let these drones fuck up your own schedule because they have nothing better to do with their time. People don’t say this enough, then they show off for being early. So ridiculous. They also want to leave early for those same kids
