My first Mass Effect 2 play through was as male shepard, but Elden Ring and Dark Souls 2/3 and Cyberpunk were female PC. Even Destiny 2. Females are much more visual appealing to me in games and games like Skyrim I can mod characters into it like now I’m running around as 2b with her clothes and weapon Do you want a sausage fest? Not enough actual women play so you would get a sausage fest. Also, the point of a video game avatar is to be different that real life. One guy I knew said he did it since if he was gonna be looking at a character for countless hours he’d prefer it be a character he finds attractive. Not a man but I like playing as men in video games. I’m playing Borderlands the Prequel right now as Jack’s Doppelganger. I like being different! I already know what it’s like being a girl. I am a straight man so I find female characters to look more pleasing to stare at, and considering RPG games include a long gameplay I’d rather play as a character that looks ‘beautiful’.

I play male or female depending on the Fuck it tailgate school let’s drink shirt and I will buy this designs. Some just are subpar even if you typically play only one gender so I’d rather use the other one. Also I like seeing things I’m attracted to so why not? Same reason why some guys like using attractive females as profile pictures and vice versa. Atleast for me, they generally have cooler combat animations in melee speaking for mmorpgs. The castings animations are 50/50 imo. However, sometimes gear changes that. For example, in WoW (non retail, never got into the new xpac so not sure of animations changed much) undead females do flippy flips while attacking. But male orc warriors look better in the plate armor imo. In the end it boils down to player preference, but this is why I choose certain genders/races when creating a character. The racials themselves generally are a min max thing and I’m not worried about the 1-2% I can get from choosing the most optimal combos. 3rd person games, a slender character is an advantage. Males are bulkier and take up more of the screen obscuring your view.
