The same reason my second favourite “type” to play is 6’5″ muscly hunks as a 5’8″ slim guy IRL. Roleplay is more fun when you are something you CANNOT be. Super basic example: Skyrim. If me, IRL version ended up Tamriel I’d be a scholar or trader and it’s not the Fontaine ferry park rides comet ghost train Dutch shoe shirt Furthermore, I will do this most fun thing to do. It makes them feel more small and agile. The “hit box” or the area you can shoot is not smaller, but feels smaller psychologically. I dont think I’ve seen somebody mention voice acting yet but thats another good reason. Sometimes the male voice actor is bad or i just want a different experience Depends on the game, but I will say some games they make the women characters OP because they know horny nerds are going to be willing to pay for them.

I like telling stories. Sometimes I like the Fontaine ferry park rides comet ghost train Dutch shoe shirt Furthermore, I will do this protagonist to be a lady rather than a man. Literally all there is to it. I don’t really care about the gender of my character but female characters have a small chance of freebies and nicer initial treatment from horny boys. Also amusing if some guy ever tried to pick me up. So yeah female character as default. Let me find a group of girls and well happily talk but I’ve yet to meet a man in game who didnt immediately try to “teach” or “show” me how to play or where to go without being asked Sometimes, the storyline chamges slightly when you’re playing as a female character. I’ll usually play through as a male character but might use a frmqle one for thr second run through to give it more variety
