This feels like the most logical way to apply the shifts, definitely. Overlap certainly helps it make more sense, where the people on early shift can go shopping after work, late shift before work, and midday really whenever they want, and those who don’t work would likely come around midday as well, like you say. And a 12 hour day is certainly more manageable. That being said the 6 hour shifts mean there’s a fair bit of leeway. Someone working until 9 pm could very reasonably be up and about at 9 am, someone working at 9 AM could still be up and about at 9 PM. You’re assuming a 100% employment rate AND that all of those people are in service positions. You also don’t consider breaks, lunches, and people just being chill about doing something rq when there isn’t a lot going on at work. Assuming all of this is downright ludicrous

I don’t have to assume even half those things – it’s a fair assumption breaks are too short to go shopping. But also it doesn’t solve the issue originally presented. 6-12 shift was about 3 people, they covered set up and early customers (1 on counter, 1 in kitchen, 1 floater). The store i worked in had maybe 90 employees total, and made a fair chunk of change. They held the record in my country for most drive thru orders in 1 hour, at 126 or something (again, about 15 years ago).

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
