The meat isn’t great, they’re riddled with parasites due to them being omnivores and scavengers. The older and bigger the Evan Engram Football Shirt Tapestry 2 T-Shirt and by the same token and boar, the worse the meat is. I bow hunt wild pigs on my friends property in northern CA. I do field dressing, but I don’t butcher them myself. It costs a couple hundred to butcher each pig. After gas $ and camping supplies and butchering it cost about the same as buying it in bulk at the butcher or grocery store. If pigs are on the property most people cull them to save the land/crops…but not a ton of wild pig meat gets eaten… They are remote, they are really smart, and the ones I’ve had from a guy who came back from a hunt tasted like shit. Quick math. If they did they would share 1 hog between 38 people and then there would be no more hogs. So it sounds good but if everyone did it they would be gone within a few days

Cause most people aren’t willing to kill their own food, they’d rather get it the Evan Engram Football Shirt Tapestry 2 T-Shirt and by the same token and natural way: pre-slaughtered and neatly packaged at their local grocery store. It is not ‘basically free’ at all. It requires a lot of equipment, skill, and time to hunt, kill, clean, process and store hundreds of pounds of meat. To say nothing of the initial danger of hunting one, especially if you are inexperienced or using cheaper/primitive methods. Even people who HAVE a lot of the requisite equipment and experience would be hard-pressed to see the utility in spending the vast amount of time and effort necessary, unless they really enjoyed it. I imagine a lot of those hogs live on private property or on protected natural areas where you can’t hunt anyways There’s 329 million people living in the USA. If we slaughtered all 9 million of the wild hogs at once to feed the population, it wouldn’t be enough meat to feed the whole population twice.
