Of an average 1000 people your town imagine 24 hunt. Of those 12 are not interested in boar because on top of being dangerous they’re not very good to eat. They have a strong gamey flavor and require specific steps to dressing to make the meat more palatable. Say of the remaining 12 half take one boar each, and the other half takes 6 each. 6 plus 36 equals 42 animals. That seems like a lot until you take into account a single pregnant sow can have litters upwards to 8 piglets. If half of those are female that’s a potential 32 pigs in 6 months. 16×8 the next season and so on.

Hogs will scream and ram you, then back off, and then ram you again if you get up, untill you’re just a pile of gore n meat. There’s closer to 20 mill in Australia but be fucked if most people live anywhere near them. You could shoot them all day and it would never beat the Draymond Green T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this uptick. There are lots of wild hogs near where I’m from, and I know a lot of avid hog hunters. I prepared a meal using hog meat once, and it tasted disgusting to me. Really gamey. When people would hunt them with spears throughout history, they learned they had to add a cross bar or an impaled hog would run itself all the way through, reach the top of the spear, and kill the hunter. For two, actually going out to hunt is not something most of us are willing or able to do safely. Most of us would be lost in minutes, and if we all start to go out hunting there will be a lot of rescues. Item three is the fact that alot of us don’t live ein palaces hogs live. A significant portion of us live in cities or in urban sprawl(if that’s the term for it) and going to a place where there could be hogs, and then hunt them will take several days at least. And not everyone can afford to take those days off, especially because sit could take an unpredictable amount of time, and we may not actually get a hog. And for the 4th reason… There are 9 million wild hogs. There are like 330 million of us. Even assuming a single high can feed 50 people they will go the way of the buffalo in a few years of real hunting… How many cows do you think we eat? Because they hunt you back, genuinely. I’d be out in the woods as a kid and specifically look for their tracks or scat to avoid their territory……
