Did you state salary requirements at any point? If so, now’s a good time to do so. If they aren’t offering near that, they either don’t want you or they lied about the Buffalo Bills Football 2023 It’s In My DNA shirt in addition I really love this range. They’ve made an offer, so negotiating isn’t going to get them to revoke. So you just go back and counter with what you actually want. Do they know your current salary? If they do, they know you won’t switch for less. If you think the new role is better for whatever reason–more interesting, fun, better long-term growth, whatever–then you should at least consider what that’s worth to you. Is it worth a lateral move? In this situation, in this sector, I can’t see them revoking the offer due to negotiation, but its worth noting that it can and does happen to people. Some employers see their offer as final, and find negotiating to be insulting/unprofessional. It is, of course, very reasonable to say that you’re dodging a bullet by them revoking the offer, since they’re likely to be bad employers. But its always important to be aware that salary negotiation isn’t a zero risk activity, it absolutely can lead to an offer being revoked.

This exact thing happened to me 3 years ago, but in a different field. All I did personally was reiterate my strengths and how it would greatly benefit them, tell them I was looking for a long term position (which was honest) and tell them I would not be willing to accept any offer that wouldn’t increase my current salary and include a starting bonus (in my case). I ended up with 3$ more/h than where I was at, and a 2500$ bonus. I won’t lie, the Buffalo Bills Football 2023 It’s In My DNA shirt in addition I really love this hiring manager did not reply for close to a week. It was nerve racking as hell, but at the end of the day I had nothing to lose. I had a job I was okay with (not extremely happy but not doing horrible either) and if the offer hadn’t gone through I’m sure I would’ve found another job later on with what I was looking for. After 1 year it increased a further 3$/h and also included a car allowance after they knew I was serious about holding the job long term and they understood I truly worked as hard as I said I did.
