Fully accepting the Blood Inside Me Pittsburgh Steelers And Duke Blue Devils 2023 shirt and I love this impossibility of free will takes away so much bad and leaves the most valuable parts of the good intact. If you see that all of life including you is part of a giant stream and you cannot stop it, why cling to it? why fear? If nothing is in our control, isn’t that more liberating? If you do have control then you face the problem of thinking how much control you have, and you desire to have more control. If it is the former, then there’s no point in always worrying about your life because you don’t have control anyways. What is it that “decides” this? Is it not just a thought to the lift the arm? where did the idea to write this come from? Is it really free will? Look to where you believe this “controller” / the one that wields this “free will”. Look there. From a Theravada Buddhist perspective, life in this physical realm consists of reoccurring physical and mental sensations that repeat themselves. They begin with a contact with the body and its senses. When a sense is stimulated, for example, an eye organ sees a sight, that sight is then registered or perceived. That identification then stimulates a desire to either move away from the sight or embrace the sight. Or most of the time we are simply neutral to the sight. After this, thought figures out how to fight, run, or love. This is all wrapped in consciousness that arises within each stimulation. Above all of this is mind, which does not die at all, but similar to a soul (but impersonal), records all the activity, which upon the physical demise of the body continues with the strength of its karma into a cycle of birth and rebirth until the mind acquires enough wisdom to cut the cycle of its own ignorance, at which time the mind ceases to exist. This is then enlightenment, an ineffable realm that cannot be communicated with or talked about, but felt, within this physical existence.

I completely disagree. I think it’s vital that we shed our belief in free will. It has certainly done me a lot of good. I believe it’s good and healthy to realize and accept that no one has free will. I think that, not only is free will impossible under our conditions, I think it’s impossible to imagine conditions under which it could be possible. Let’s take your decision to lift your arm as an example. To consciously choose to lift your arm you must choose to think to lift your arm. You must be able to consciously choose the Blood Inside Me Pittsburgh Steelers And Duke Blue Devils 2023 shirt and I love this thought. Go ahead and choose your next thought. No, that’s the current thought. No, that’s the current thought again. The next thought will always be a mystery. It’s not possible to consciously choose the next thought for the simple reason that you are not and cannot be conscious of it yet.
