I have free will to decide to lift my arm. But am I really deciding that or is it the Angry Ringer The Rolling Stones Shirt But I will love this result of billions of years of chance and evolution? I don’t know. I suspect that even if we don’t have free will, it’s not good to have this idea as a driving force in your life. We need to think that we have choices to make and we can vastly chance the state of our lives (interior and exterior) because on our choices. Even if it’s a delusion, it’s one that we need! I beat myself up and say “how could I have been so stupid and wasted time, hurt people etc…”. But I also have compassion for myself knowing that I’m just human. But I know I also have to do my best TODAY to be a better person. I need to decide to be better. Sure I don’t know if that is my “will” deciding, but yeah that’s the part we don’t need to dwell on.
