Do not worry about the Alien 45th Anniversary 1979 – 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt Additionally,I will love this money for now. This is your opportunity to get the experience and the title for the next job. The only problem is that they might be trying to get an outside hire to replace your boss and then they will demote you after you worked to cover their a** in the meantime. The best option would be to look around. It will be hard, but it would prepare you in case the company has more problems. If you are not able to get another gig and they bring someone else and demote you, then do not get mad! Ask for a bonus for your hard work. After the bonus check clears, then you can get mad. Get the money first. Simple… get it in writing. Explain that you appreciate that they wish to entrust you with this opportunity. Tell them you understand that there won’t be a pay raise immediately but there will be a title change. Ask if they can provide you with details on the role, the responsibilities, the specific metrics that would be used to determine whether you’re able to be successful, when that review would occur, and what the positive outcome would be (how much of a raise)? Haha I got the title change and an effective pay decrease. I was promoted to management and switched from hourly to salary with a promise that I would get a review soon and my pay increase then, and I accepted some extra vacation time in lieu of an immediate raise. What a mistake. 2 years later I still haven’t gotten a review and because they switched me to salaried, I lost my overtime pay. Which amounts to around $14k annually before management and more like $30k after the promotion. They’ve basically burned me out to the point of complete exhaustion, pay me less, and still tell me I’m not doing enough. To protect yourself- ask for a timeline for the raise, what the expectations/requirements are for the raise (what are the metrics- tangible measurements, not things left up to interpretation!) and how much the raise will be for. Get it in writing.

Tell them to draw up a contract and you’ll have your attorney look it over. Make sure it includes severance in escrow. Don’t want them to have you be an interim manager only to replace you with an outside hire right as it’s time to pay the Alien 45th Anniversary 1979 – 2024 Thank You For The Memories Shirt Additionally,I will love this piper. Make sure the new salary after XYZ time and deliverables is at least 50th percentile for comparable positions. An EoY performance based bonus to make you whole would be the cherry on top. Been there, done that without promises in writing. You’ll get stuck underpaid and overworked. Maybe it was worth it, but I eventually got jaded and left. My new job pays almost as much and I went back to being an individual contributor. “How will my current duties be lessened to give me time to do the new work without working for free and devaluing myself?” Create an air tight plan in writing with goals and expectations and a deadline for when everything must be met to be comfortable. Get it in writing and signed. I went through something similar at my previous company that I was at for 5 years before I moved to another state. I loved that company and the people I worked with. Getting it in writing is a sign of respect. It’s saying “I will do this by this date, and when that’s accomplished, my compensation will then be this much.” Once signed, work hard and meet those created expectations. Good Luck!
