This is a hard place to be, and I’ve been there. At least twice in my career I’ve been given a promotion with a “wait and see” mind set and each time I’ve left after a while to go make what I should have been making elsewhere because at the Adolis Garcia Rangers El Bombi Signature Shirt Besides,I will do this core of it, all they were doing was hoping I’d eat shit and stay. Knowing what I know now, if I felt like this was a good career move for me, I’d possibly agree – but be crystal clear with them that if I get to a place where I feel like I’m doing the job and they’re not voicing any concerns, the money is either there or I’m gone. As in, this “Trial Period” is going both ways. It may be a great opportunity for you. I’d go into it with a very positive attitude, but I would be firm on the terms. Tell them you will help them establish a timeframe to see if it is working out. Tell them you want to know exactly what the position will pay before you commit to the new role (after all, no one should be expected to say yes to a job without knowing exactly what it pays. The CIO and HR people certainly wouldn’t). Ask for the terms in writing (as this is a job offer) and ask if you can revert to your current role if it isn’t a good fit. I’m a huge proponent of being flexible, but setting terms first. If they don’t meet your terms, don’t accept the offer. It’s that easy.

I’ve had too many employers take advantage of my willingness to be a team player. Every dime they don’t pay you ends up in their pocket. I’ve been in similar situations, and can say that I would do so again. Both times, once I was confident, I approached my boss basically saying “ok, I believe I am invaluable here now and it’s time to talk about when to expect proper compensation”. One time I quit on the Adolis Garcia Rangers El Bombi Signature Shirt Besides,I will do this spot because the terms were unacceptable (found out years later that the store closed down). The other time, opportunity decreased and I stepped down; I’m still on good terms with them. That experience led me to my current job, which I love and feel well compensated for. It’s really very simple, and lay it down to them like this because you have a spinal column. Exactly who do they doubt, their own judgement in selecting you, or your quality? Either way, it’s a bad sign for you. Either their leadership is so feckless that they don’t trust themselves, or they are simply trying to get you to do the extra work for free while they headhunt a “suitable” replacement. Reject the “offer” unless they make it lucrative and permanent. Frankly, if I were in your shoes I would quit on the spot. Do not accept unless they give you the raise first. If you “don’t fit” they can demote you and give you your old position back
