I can’t speak to the Activity Squad Loving Sunflower Leopard Director Appreciation Coordinator T-Shirt and I love this ease of it in general but the people I know who started or considered it seemed like a fairly speedy process for them. Regarding the mental health aspect I’m always suspect of therapists and psychiatry in general coming from someone that dealt with a TON of shitty ones that either thought we should pray or I was faking or just repeated what they thought I wanted to hear. I think erring on the side of caution and make it 18 to start is reasonable. When it comes to a drastic and permanent change like that you have to be your own advocate and be fully aware of the long-term consequences and potential drawbacks. And as someone that dealt with suicidal ideation and attempts I empathize but it took me nearly two decades to find some semblance of peace. I’m just worried that instead of finding a more balanced approach it’s just going to be an all or nothing situation. Mental/physical health is nuanced and there are so many variables and its distressing that this has been politicized. That’s my perspective. Im just viewing this as a parent and someone that’s seen some near disastrous consequences of poor handling of transitional counseling

I can’t speak to the Activity Squad Loving Sunflower Leopard Director Appreciation Coordinator T-Shirt and I love this ease of it in general but the people I know who started or considered it seemed like a fairly speedy process for them. It isnt an easy or quick process at all. Especially if you are under 18. If you are above 18 its a bit easier but it can still take months depending on where you go. Its also a lot easier to get estrogen rather than testosterone so trans masc people have a bit more trouble getting hrt because its a controlled substance. I would agree with you if kids werent killing themselves. I want trans youth to survive, and this is how that happens. This is the only way that we have found that works. I just want them to survive to adulthood, the numbers are there, we know how to help them, why arent we allowed to?
