This is the way. Stunt double’s life the pain is real there scars were earned my craft is one of pride and respect this is because only a few shirt. I think there’s some confusion because you capitalized the adjective and used lowercase for the place name. “caribbean” as an adjective or descriptor (caribbean cuisine) has the accent on the “i”, while the place-name Caribbean (Pirates of the) has the accent on the “e” The fact that they’re homonyms is just one of those little tricks of English. n SPanish, for instance, the question would not come up because the two words don’t look alike. Pirates of the Caribbean would be “Piratas del Caribe” while “caribbean food” would be “comida caribeña” Or what about “caramel?” I’m usually on the side of pronouncing the second “A” since it’s right there lol, but what about when saying a caramel apple? Then I switch to saying it like “Carmel” since that’s what it is called lol. I pronounce ‘route’ as either ‘rout’ or ‘root’ depending on which road I’m talking about. I have no idea why some roads are ‘routs’ and some are ‘roots’ in my head, but they are.

It seems to me like you’re just following iambic pentameter. Stunt double’s life the pain is real there scars were earned my craft is one of pride and respect this is because only a few shirt Or whatever it’s called alternating stressed and unstressed syllables. You say that but try going with a solid british accent into any random grocery in the US and asking for a tin of tomatoes. “During her voyage to the Caribbean, instead of going to Costco, my aunt went to Ikea” is gonna cause a whole world war Where I am it’s “Ant” if you’re just using the word Aunt in a sentence and “ain’t” if you’re talking about a specific aunt where you’re using their name. Everyone in UK would say it like in POTC. Car-I-beeyun. The other way sounds really funny to me. How do people who are actually from the Caribbean say it? Maybe it’s a noun/adjective distinction now that I think about it. Like I might say it the other way when I say “Caribbean music”, but the Pirates way in the sentence “I’m from the Caribbean”. The first pronunciation is used to ascribe an attribute to somebody. “That person is Caribbean (cuh-RIB-ee-in)”. In this instance the two versions are spelled the same, but I think of the two pronunciations as being analogous to ‘Greek’ vs ‘Greece’.
