Had mysterious agonising pains in my side, doctor was sure it was IBS, put me on the 35 years 1988 2023 Kidrock thank you for the memories signature shirt moreover I will buy this fodmap diet, didn’t help. Few appointments later I happen to see a different doctor who refers me for an ultrasound where they find too large gallstones. Go back to Dr 1 and he dismisses the scan completely and insists that it’s IBS. I then go back to dr 2 who happily refers me for surgery. My dentist wanted to cut my gums open and remove my wisdom teeth to prevent them from coming in and causing problems I had a Lower Mainland Internist tell me that getting my blood sugar levels down to normal should have “cured” my agoraphobia. WTF???!! I asked her wth she was talking about and asked what would blood sugar levels have to do with agoraphobia. Whereupon she started to freak out, raising her voice to start yelling at me that she’s not a psychiatrist and how could she be expected to know if it had anything to do with blood sugar levels (umm, then why tf did she SAY it did???) and she just continued with her screamfest. NOT the only time she flipped out and started screaming and freaking out either. Two appointments later upon my telling her that I had gotten my official medical diagnosis of ADHD she again started screaming over the phone at me, “No you’re not!! You do not have ADHD!! You can’t have adhd!! WHO diagnosed??! You know it has to be a psychiatrist?? What psychiatrist diagnosed you??!!” etc etc. Meanwhile, it was the day AFTER I’d gotten my diagnosis and I was feeling zen af, totally calm, validated, and just tried to keep from laughing out loud at this utterly unhinged adult medical professional throwing her pathetic toddler tantrum. It was amusing as hell. What is wrong with this woman??!! “Actually, ” I told her, finally cutting in, “a proper medical diagnosis must be made by…” and I started listing off the different medical professionals that are legally able to do so, and that my medical diagnosis had been by TWO (I’ve since found out it was even more than two) of those qualified and legally allowed to do so. I informed her that I had also received a non-medical diagnosis from a counselor that specializes in ADHD and is an expert in his field—who is also the one that put me in touch with those who gave me my medical diagnosis. That seemed to stop her tantrum as she responded with a very subdued “Oh.”

The woman has issues, I swear!! Makes me wonder if her parents were disappointed she became an Internist instead of a psychiatrist because thus far her freakouts seem to be triggered by the 35 years 1988 2023 Kidrock thank you for the memories signature shirt moreover I will buy this use of that word. I’ve had 5 or 6 quick 15-minute (maybe, if that!) phone appointments with her. She doesn’t know me, yet has had these very strange, very personal, and unprofessional freakouts during two of those phone appointments. P.S…Blood sugar levels have nothing to do with agoraphobia and anxieties and will not cause nor cure them, but if the way my body is reacting to proper ADHD is any indication, I think my ADHD definitely DID have something to do with it. Starting low and slow while we titrate, but the medication seems to lower my anxiety level and calm me down *fingers crossed*
