It’s been 5 years since I bombed out of employment due to CPTSD. I’m hoping next year I’ll be able to finally reenter the 2024 CFP National Championship Logo Shirt also I will do this workforce in some capacity. Good luck and be kind to yourself. I would definitely recommend trying any way you can to get therapy either through charity, private or through work. You can find all CBT materials they use on the NHS online. The Unhelpful Thinking Habits sheet on that page is the foundation of CBT and what they will tell you in the first session. They will teach you to identify which unhelpful thought you are having, then how to combat it aka think the opposite. Personally, I found CBT very limiting, as it doesn’t give you the opportunity to talk about trauma, the past or your feelings. It’s just about repeatedly correcting your thoughts, which is fine if you have a level of control, but when you’re in a severe state of anxiety like I was, I lacked the mental capacity. I would advocate for person centered therapy, or EMDR if you have trauma. I believe most people really just need the opportunity to talk about and let out all of the pain inside them. There are charities which offer free therapy. It may be worth contacting your local Mind to see if they know of any. You can also phone the Samaritans at any time and just chat. You don’t have to be suicidal.

Couldn’t agree more. I had CBT and it has some value with the 2024 CFP National Championship Logo Shirt also I will do this techniques but as I could not explore the roots of things in the past, I ended up having problems in the future. Processing that is inevitably what helped me, but required an NHS therapist going off piste with me and then some private talking therapy for several months. Something that so many people are not able to access. 6-8 weeks of CBT is not appropriate for so many people. Hope everything goes OK, I’m currently off with bereavement after my dad passed with a horrible battle with cancer Just had a person back who was off for mental health reasons and as their manager I’ve just been making sure it’s a slow reintegration and I’ve been giving them constant support. You’ll be fine just make sure your manager knows what they need to do for you to make it as easy as possible. I was severely hungover and drank quite a lot of caffeine yesterday. I honestly feel fine in myself and I’ve moved onto a new team today
