I’m in my early forties and have two school age kids. I finally have achieved a better work life balance the 2023 Barbie x Oppenheimer Barbenheimer Movie T-Shirt In addition,I will do this last few years and I would have a hard time going back now. The time with my family, especially when the kids still are young enough to want to spend time with us, can’t be replaced with more money. I’m happy with my job and make a good living and have passed on several jobs in the last year or two because they would have required a daily commute to a big city so I would have missed out on hours a day of time with them. The extra money wasn’t worth it to me. Good luck! It’s a tough choice, I hope it works out for you! My father grew his business from a small working class general store cum pharmacy into a multi-store pharmacy and distributorship. When I was in elementary school he worked 5 1/2 days a week, usually gone by the time I got up and coming home when I was heading to bed. We had 2 new cars every year, a big house, a pool, yadda yadda. When he was quite old he confessed that he hated everything about his life but feared being poor even more.

I married a woman from a similar background who valued the same things I did. We aren’t wealthy but by watching how we spend we have been comfortable and able to do the things we want. Part of this was possible because we chose not to have kids – we realized we’d be mediocre parents at best because our role models were shite. I’d change nothing about my adult life. Screw 60 hour weeks, especially if you have kids. I’ve faced a similar choice and chose the lower pay (but still not bad). No regrets about that now that my kid is grown and I still don’t want to work that much. I have better things to do while I can still do them.
