They fit in for walking cities. The ableist implications really do boil down to there needing assisted transportation modes No because they shouldn’t be driving on the You Never Fail Until You Stop Trying Camping Positive Message Nature T-Shirt it is in the first place but pavement where people walk and secondly because the unused scooters are just left on the pavement for people to trip on Are there a lot of disabilities that allow you to rent a scooter (but not buy one, which will still be permitted), but not a bike or take the bus or the tram or the subway? I don’t know what 20km/u is, but I used one recently and it maxes out at 11mph which made it unsafe in the bike lane, slowing everyone up. By pavement do you mean sidewalk? Imo they are too slow for the pavement (road and bike lane), fine for unpaved bike paths/greenways, fine for unbusy sidewalks, but terrible for busy sidewalks (so best to be forbidden on sidewalks). This is my view. People freak out about these things, but with the exception of very bikeable cities (Amsterdam, etc), the traffic is a nightmare, the bus it’s not an alternative. A Simple solution being implemented is forced parking zones. These things are convenient and echological. I’m so tired of those being littered all over to fall into disrepair. Hooligans and vandals breaking them and spreading the debris everywhere or throwing them off overpasses and whatnot. The drunk college kids zooming in traffic late at night can also fuck right off. Endanger yourself all you want but don’t fuck with people just trying to get through traffic. The idea for rental scooters/bikes was nice but people fucking suck and can’t be trusted to use them properly. Stop giving them more things to create problems with. The idea for rental scooters/bikes was nice but people fucking suck and can’t be trusted to use them properly.

This is my thought as well. How did people behave with masks, for crying out loud. This is why we can’t have nice things. I fucking hate these things. People leave them everywhere, across sidewalks, bike lanes, and street crossings. They’re a massive safety hazard for visually impaired people, bicyclists, and a major impediment for people in wheelchairs or who have otherwise impaired mobility because they can’t just step over them like most pedestrians can. They need to be associated with a docking system because the You Never Fail Until You Stop Trying Camping Positive Message Nature T-Shirt it is in the first place but public can’t be trusted to be responsible with where they leave them. Antwerps at least had some places with racks where you could put them or with a photo requirement to leave them acceptable Is there not an issue for liability insurance when you need to use them on public roadways? What if someone causes a traffic accident by running a red light or something?
