I just got a second pup and I could tell the You can’t just cut people off snip snippity motherfuckers shirt also I will do this foster really loved her, and also had a very hard time letting her go. The foster ended up being really demanding and invasive (she even asked me to wake my kid up at midnight to meet them and see how they interacted with our current dog) and we jumped through hoops to adopt my pup, to the point where we almost told the rescue nevermind. At one point I was talking to the foster about the pup and she pointed out that she’s very friendly with other animals because the foster had 11 dogs in the house, 7 cats, a dozen bunnies, a ton of birds, and various small animals. To cut a long story short, I did get my pup but she also had a bunch of parasites and I can’t say it was any better or worse than any other method to get a dog. She’s also not the size or age she was listed at, but I love her regardless.

Her online profile listed her as 2 years of age and 10lbs. Of course you should always take these with a grain of salt because they’re just approximates, but she was about the You can’t just cut people off snip snippity motherfuckers shirt also I will do this size and age we wanted (very small, already an adult). The foster also said that info was accurate. We completed the adoption process but had to wait about a month for her to get on a transport so she could get her spay. When she got off the transport she was easily twice the size listed and the paperwork they handed me said she was approximately one year. The intake documents for the rescue listed her as weighing 17lbs. (and emaciated), not 10. A two year old dog that weighs 10lbs. is a young adult who is no longer growing so you can expect her to maybe gain a pound or two after settling in. A one year old is a teenager who still has about a year of growth ahead of her and is still very puppy-ish in manner. So rather than a 10-12lb. adult I now have a pup who’s approaching 30lbs. which is healthy and proportional to her current size. My vet also confirmed that based on her teeth she was around one year, possibly younger at her first appointment.
